Eclipse Water Filtration System

Condition Reason Solution
NEW POWER MODULE FLASHES RED System did not reset Remove module and reinsert after five minutes
DIVERTER KNOB IS SLUGGISH OR DOES NOT FULLY RETURN TO THE "OFF" POSITION AFTER BEING IN SERVICE FOR A WHILE
  1. Lack of lubricant on the shaft of the diverter valve

  2. The diverter valve is used in areas with hard water
  1. Remove diverter valve from faucet. Place some petroleum jelly in hole opening on diverter valve and work diverter knob back and until a smooth motion is restored. The valve may require soaking in vinegar to remove scale build-up.

  2. Detach diverter valve faucet, remove the rubber washer inside diverter and soak diverter valve in vinegar. After several hours remove diverter valve and rinse. Press petroleum jelly into hole opening in diverter valve work the diverter knob back and forth until a smooth action is restored. Replace rubber washer and reconnect diverter valve to faucet.
WATER CONTINUES TO RUN AFTER DIVERTER VALVE IS SHUT OFF Air in the water is being trapped inside the filter housing With water flowing through system, turn the system upside down several times to allow airpockets to escape
WHITE SEDIMENT IN WATER Calcium carbonate is present in the water. This condition occurs normally when water is boiled or frozen and then melts. This condition is normal and no action is required
ICE CUBES ARE CLOUDY IN CENTER Minerals collect in the center of ice cubes when water is frozen This condition is normal and no action is required
WATER FLOW FROM THE SPOUT IS SLOW
  1. Excessive amounts of particulates in the water may have caused premature plugging. This condition may occur before red lamps begins flashing

  2. Water flow from spout continues to be slow after replacing the prefilter. Water conditions in your area are poor
  1. Remove the prefilter on cartridge and discard. Replace with a new prefilter. Click here to order a prefilter replacement kit

  2. Replace cartridge
WATER SMELLS LIKE ROTTEN EGGS Sulphur reducing bacteria is in the water supply Chlorinate the cartridge by mixing a teaspoon of chlorine bleach in a cup of warm water. Remove filter base and pour into filter housing. Replace filter base. Let it set for 10 to 15 minutes and flush thoroughly
SYSTEM LEAKS
  1. Clamp is not tight enough

  2. Large O-ring is missing or cut

  3. Fitting on filter base is loose
  1. Tighten wing nut

  2. Replace large O-ring

  3. Firmly press down on fitting
WATER FROM THE SYSTEM IS RUSTY OR RED IN COLOR There is a high content of soluble iron present in your water supply The system is not designed to remove soluble iron. Ask your ECLIPSE distributor about an iron removal prefilter
